For contemporary and lyrical dancers, dance socks provide that barefoot feel, while offering a bit more support. Turners are commonly used for lyrical and competition dance. They only cover half the foot, so you can still feel the floor, but they have a leather pad underneath the ball of the foot, right where you need to turn. FootUndeez are similar to turners in that they protect the ball of the foot for turning, but they differ in that they don't cover the toes and therefore don't show on stage, so the dancer still looks barefoot.
